- Set oven 160°fan. Line a 7" baking tin, I use a preformed liner.
- Rub butter/marg into the flour and baking powder until fine breadcrumbs. Stir in 3oz of the soft brown sugar..
- Peel and chop apples mix them straight into flour mixture to stop them changing colour.
- Mix in egg and enough milk to make a dropping consistency. Pour into lined tin and smooth out top.
- In a small bowl put 1/2oz soft brown sugar and the cinnamon. Fork it through. Sprinkle on top of mixture in tin. Put in oven.
- Bake for about 45 mins. Test with a skewer to ensure completely cooked. Should be firm to touch. Cool.
