- Let bread completely cool down then break into smaller pieces and throw in food processor and chop till fine.(do in small batches)
- Put bread crumbs in large ziplock bag and add italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and parmesan cheese. Shake bag good to incorporate everything good.
- I store mine in the refrigerator.
- To make plain breadcrumbs do not add seasonings to bread crumbs.
Full tasting bread, like a sourdough or herbed bread makes for delicious crumbs. When made from fresh bread the crumbs absorb less fat or liquid than a dry crumb, making them ideal for topping off. Spread the cubes in a single layer on a baking tray. Using tongs, place bread slices directly on oven racks. Remove and cool on wire rack.
