- Prepare 6 Chikoos
- Get 150 gms Mawa/Khoya
- Prepare 3/4 th cup Milk
- Make ready 4 tbsp Ghee
- Make ready 1/4 th cup sugar
- Take 2 Cardamom pods crushed using a mortar pestle
- Get Chopped Almonds and Pistachios
Instructions to make Chikoo/Sapota Halwa:
- Peel the chikoos,de-seed them and grind them into a fine paste.
- Take a heavy bottomed kadhai and heat 3tbsp of ghee into it.
- Once the ghee is hot add the chikoo puree to it and stir well for 3-4 minutes.
- Once the chikoo puree starts bubbling add milk to it and combine everything well.Let it cook for 5minutes keep stirring else there are chances that it might stick to the bottom.
- After 5minutes add the crumbled Khoya/Mawa to it and mix everything well.Let it cook until the mixture starts leaving the pan.
- Once the halwa starts leaving the pan add sugar,crushed cardamom powder let it cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Once its done garnish it with chopped almonds and pistachios. Serve hot or cold as per your desire.
